Patricia Bolaños is an illustrator and cartoonist based in Brooklyn.

She studied Architecture in Madrid, her hometown, but her passion for drawing and her love for storytelling led her to swap endless nights in AutoCAD for colored pencils. In 2016, she moved to New York almost by chance and, after a period of personal exploration (marked by several existential crises and countless tears in coffee shops), began her career as an illustrator.

Her technique combines watercolor, gouache, and digital illustration to create vibrant, expressive images. Her work has appeared in publications such as The New YorkerThe Wall Street JournalVanity Fair, and Condé Nast Traveller.

She always carries a sketchbook in her bag and often spends hours drawing scenes on the New York subway, which is where much of her inspiration comes from.
